Dongying of East China's Shandong province launched a series of tourist campaigns, which features cultural and tourism activities to boost holiday consumption during the 2025 May Day holiday.
Key attractions include a historical exhibition at the Dongying Art Museum, which displays over 80 rare artifacts and uses immersive VR technology to bring history to life. In addition to the artifacts, the expo will offer upgraded experiences, such as interactive markets, cultural performances, and tech-powered events.
Visitors can experience the unique charm of the Hongtan Wetland and Jinni Bay Scenic Areas through gathering shells and seaside camping, while enjoying vibrant waterfront music festivals. At the Lancui Lake Scenic Area, they can also check out intangible cultural heritage, comedy performances, and interactive games.

Digital innovation enhances the honey locust forest flower-viewing experience with VR and AR installations. While fishing, music, and local cuisine await in Kenli district's Laoshiwu village. Aerial tours over the Yellow River estuary at Gudong Sea Embankment and vibrant celebrations in Guangrao and Lijin counties further enrich the holiday offerings.

To support long-term tourism growth, Dongying will also introduce an annual tourism pass for year-round access to its cultural and scenic highlights.
